8 years ago I shared Jesus to 80, and 69 yrs old

“Eight years ago, while riding a jeepney on my way home, I passed by R. Castillo and saw Nanay Pasitasal, 69, standing on a street corner. I felt prompted by the Spirit of God to get off the jeepney and share the Gospel with her. As I approached Nanay, Tatay, 66, arrived at the same corner on his tricycle, loaded with recyclable materials. I had the privilege of sharing the Gospel of Jesus with them, and they both received Christ into their hearts. That day reminded me that obedience to the gentle prompting of the Holy Spirit can change eternal destinies. A simple step of faith can open heaven for someone’s life. All glory and praise belong to Jesus.” 1 John 4:9 Niini gipadayag ang gugma sa Dios kanato: nga gisugo sa Dios ang iyang bugtong nga Anak nganhi sa kalibutan, aron nga mangabuhi kita pinaagi kaniya.

Rivers of Oil: The Flow of Anointing and Prosperity

Job 29:6  “When I washed my steps with butter, and the rock poured me out rivers of oil.”

Here Job recalls a season of favor when abundance and prosperity flowed freely in his life:

• Butter (curds) = richness, nourishment, fatness (symbol of prosperity and plenty).
• Rivers of oil = overflowing anointing, wealth, and divine blessing.
• Rock pouring oil = supernatural supply from unlikely places, a picture of God’s miraculous provision.

Oil as a Symbol in Scripture
Oil in the Bible carries several overlapping meanings, all tied to flow and prosperity:

• Anointing and the Spirit – Oil represents the presence and empowerment of the Spirit (1 Samuel 16:13).
1 Samuel 16:13  Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah.

• Healing and Restoration – Oil was applied for healing (James 5:14).
James 5:14  Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:

• Wealth and Abundance – Olive oil was a major product of Israel’s economy; to have “oil” meant prosperity (Deuteronomy 8:8).
Deuteronomy 8:8  A land of wheat, and barley, and vines, and fig trees, and pomegranates; a land of oil olive, and honey;

• Joy and Gladness – Called “the oil of gladness” (Psalm 45:7).
Psalm 45:7  Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

When Job says “rivers of oil,” it combines spiritual and material prosperity, symbolizing unending flow.

Rivers of Oil as Prosperity

The phrase “rivers of oil” reveals several truths about prosperity:

1. Supernatural Flow
– Oil doesn’t usually pour from rocks, but God can make abundance flow from impossible places.

Just as water came from the rock in Exodus 17:6, Job recalls oil gushing forth from the rock — divine prosperity.
Exodus 17:6  Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.

2. Overflowing Anointing
– Not a trickle of oil, but rivers. This is abundance of grace and empowerment.
Psalm 23:5: “Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.”

3. Economic Prosperity
– In ancient Israel, oil was commerce. To have rivers of oil symbolized unstoppable financial flow and wealth. (Deuteronomy 33:24: “Let Asher be blessed with children… and let him dip his foot in oil.”)

4. Sustained Blessing
– Oil keeps lamps burning. Rivers of oil = continuous fuel, continuous supply, continuous prosperity with no end.
